Coaching 101 - Ch 4

Refocusing involves giving fleshing out our visions and ideas that were discovered in the reflection stage. Refocusing is in essence the 'bridge between good intentions and actually realizing those intentions."(1, p.62)

Things to keep in mind:
1) We need to make plans that we really desire, otherwise they will be less likely to succeed. (1, p.65)
2) We should aim to be flexible with our plans as situations may change, and we need to adjust accordingly.
3) A bigger goal or project will become more manageable if broken up into smaller measurable tasks with clear milestone markers. The milestone markers will help you assess your progress towards your goal, and also give you a sense of accountability.
4) Most importantly "Our goals and action plans need to be brought in line with the desires of our hearts and with how God made us....what you do must flow out of who you are." (1, p.69)

Scripture
Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails.
